Hey it's Christmas, it is time to remember...
This is the time of the year, when families and friends do get together to enjoy eachothers company.
This is the time of the year, when we do remember those who are with us no more.
We tie ribbons, light candles, look at pictures and even look back in time and also do think about the future.
Did we learn anything, can we see, do we feel, can we hear and do we love the beauty of life.
This song might be a bit sad, but at the same time it is comforting and full of hope, just look around and feel the wonders of life and love.
This is for my dear mother.I do remember you.
Let's take good care of ourselves, so that we can be strong and take care others around us, give a helping hand if needed, be there when needed and give compassion.
Have a wonderful Christmas time and do enjoy.
Antsu

the way it's meant to do
But I'll still have a glow at Christmas
because I'll be with you"

What a wonderful world
This is the song I played, when I heard, that I will be granddad for the first time, the second time and now, for the third time. This baby-boy we do call "cyber-baby", thanks to internet. We were informed about the delivery online all the time and it was actually rather interesting and even made me nervous. We even got the first pictures of him only few hours after his birth. This is the modern way, the distance between us is over 2000km, so now I can see him allmost immediately. We will go and meet him eye to eye in early january, can't wait to see all my grandchildren and my daughter and Andy aswell.
So now we set our thoughts towards Christmas,New Year and the future. Let's hope, that everything will better for the next generation and let's keep in our minds that we do have the responsibility of it.
The cyprus-connection rules,,,just four more months and my dear wife will also be a grandmum for the first time,,,strange how both our daughters have found the connection to cyprus,,,the one in Uk and the other in Finland...

Temperature is falling...
-5C today. (Ok, it's nothing - later in Januari it can be even -35C in Finland.) The first cold morning allways hit's me and changes me from a rather nice and positive person to feeling like this:
I HATE WINTER!!!!!! And I hate people saying "there is no bad weather, just wear right clothes"...wtf (sorry) anyway you have to breath, and feel the cold air fill you >:[
But it's friday and a nice weekend to look forward to - and I have hot new winterboots too, black leather ;)

Now it is my turn....
Our life is changing, Paivi will be a granmother in march and I will be grandfather for 3rd time just within few weeks. What is rather amazing is the thing ,we call " Cyprus Connection".
As you might have noticed, we do love Cyprus, it is a place of relaxation for us, a place to meet with lovely people we've known for years, people that we can call DEAR FRIEDS.
It is also amazing , that our daughters both are in a happy relationship with a cypriot, the otherone in London and the otherone in Turku. The connection rules.
We are back from holidays and all the work has begun. I am teaching yoga, flexi-bar, spinning, BodyVive and BodyBalance in the evenings and work during the day.
I have started with some music projects again, so just wait and see.
Today we will go to Helsinki to listen live one of our favourites, Massive Attack, that will be an experience. They have been to Finland few times, but we have missed them then and once we even had tickets, but it was cancelled just one day before the show ( the drummer was injured on a gig ).
But today, we will enjoy the deep sounds of TRIP HOP, with my angel of happiness...

Letting go or giving up?
This summer has been different for me in many ways. After having major age chrisis (my first one ever) and having to face the fact that my physical body is never going to be that'all mighty'one again, I feel good, strong and serene. Never felt like this before. How I this time managed to do that? - It was not easy, but I finally learned to let go....
It's so easy trying to live the buddhist lifestyle when everything is fine. And forget all as soon a chrisis hits you. BUT sooner or (like me) later you remember all you have learned and can see the 'big picture'. Everything is constantly changing..Suffering ends when craving and attachment (to thigs, thoughts, feelings, people..) ends, when one is freed from desire. "awareness to see things for what they are with clear consciousness, being aware of the present reality within oneself, without any craving or aversion" - letting go.
I also know that although I'm serene now, doesn't mean I will stay that way, because here we go again: everything is changing, nothing lasts ;)
And with 'now' I litterally mean just right now, this moment, this minute, because "For yesterday is but a dream, And tomorrow only a vision".
Because I have been so serious with you I will share with you these old, classic goodies that allways make me laugh (loud)

The amazing Flying Arrow...
No blogging in 9 days, what a shame and no excuses. We have been, as usual 2 weeks before holidays, busybusybusy working. And walking and doing wholebody workout and a bit of yoga - just us, together, feels nice. Woke up with soar throat last friday and totally panic: is this the start to h1n1??? It was not, a lots of lemon, honey, fresh ginger, vitamin c, probiotics and A. Vogels echinaforce cured me in 48 hours. Two nice weekends with children and their boy/girl-friends, and my daughters dog - who is too human (positively) to be just a dog ;) or is there any "just a dogs", don't think so. Cyprus holidays are getting closer, and we really do need a break. Just can't wait to meet all our friends and see how much little 'Tiesto' and his brother have grown under summer. And Dear Darling Sis - we wan't some avgolemoni, please...
Saw on tv Usain Bolt break the world record with an amazing attitude. Hope we all can take some of that to our everyday life and training - just take it easy, nothing is impossible.
Did you know that "bolt" means arrow - nomen est omen...

Take care, love -p-

My sugar is Raw - we will never recover..
and A Dream came true - we saw Madonna..and REALLY SAW - just a few meters between us and The Queen of Pop. And she was no diva, so present, friendly and superpro. And when she said "Hello Finland", I did not faint - I cried ;)
It was awesome, fantastic - but not just "once in the lifetime"-experience, we want more. We were Fans and now we are Freaks. This was our first concert, but definetly not the last.

Nordic Walking part 2
Friday:
- bought The Poles: 'Exel Nordic Walker Black Poison Evolution' (thats really the whole name).
- started training...and what a laugh :D. Antsu who can ski mastered the correct technique AT ONCE...well I can't ski...it was sooo funny, I started walking and I absolutely could't walk normally with the sticks - I moved same leg and arm, impossible to alternate. Felt and looked like I was working at Monty Pythons Ministry of Silly walks. (And this is only for our finnish readers: "näytti ihan James Potkukelkan kävelyltä -apuva!")
- with gigglegigglegiggle and more giggle, I finally got the technique thanks to my wonderful, patient husband
- walked 55 min, and really enjoyed it
Saturday:
- Nordic walking 55 min
Sunday:
- Nordic walking 55 min
Today:
- Indoor cycling OR Nordic walking 90 min
We are hooked. Completely. We take back everything we ever said.
It's surprisingly good whole body workout - with the right technique ;)

Nordic Walking
It's looks like kinda Alzheimer skiing, you have sticks (actually they are called "walking poles") but have forgot the skis.
..but here we go again, never say never...
let's face the facts: I can't walk normally more than...the truth is...at all - it hurts like hell...but anyway I have to do it to keep me going...and walking is BORING.Have tried the walking sticks and surprisesurprise, they were not bad at all. The thing is that if you use them as they should be used, it's not SO easy...alittlebit tricky and surprisingly good workout.
And my dear Antsu who completely shares my "alzheimer skiing" opinions are going to walk with me so I don't have to walk alone - I love you, is there anything you would't do for me?!
Going to buy The Sticks to day, let you know how it goes.....
p.s. nobody are NEVER going to see us 'scandinavian blondes' in Cyprus nordic walking...on the other hand, walking in the sunshine behind Antsu and watching his footballplayer-thight muscels moving would not be so bad at all...wow..definetly have to rethink this ;)

Farewell my Friend
In december 1990 when we,"The Roses" (group of 6 moms), had a gathering, you played us a song from a brand new c-cassette - and I was hooked, and has been since. It was Madonnas Immaculate and The Song we played over and over again was La Isla Bonita. You have a special place in my heart, will allways remember your sarcastic sense of humour - so this clip is for You, knowing you would have loved it.
Farewell, have a safe Journey!

Living with pain - Every cloud has a silver lining

I have lived now with this nearly constant pain in my hipjoint for a couple of years. The hip joint cleaning operation I had in Februari helped, but also showed how badly the joint is damaged (arthrosis) - I saw the colour pictures taken inside the joint (isn't it amazing what modern medicine can do), and they where not pretty. And now I have to face it - The Pain is back...I need a new joint. I'm becoming a Bionic Woman. Everybody who knows me knows also that I don't want to use painkillers, want more soft and holistic alternatives. But little me is definitly not soft, holistic or sophisticated every day..like today: too tired after "pain night", no positive energy flowing inside, no Kabat-Zinn Mindfullness (that has helped me a lot), no bright side anywhere, the cold finnish summer making my cypriot soul crazy - and my dear Antsu has to deal with me as I am like the little finnish hedgehog saying "I'm NOT ****ing calm" ;) He is used to this, (and honestly most the time I am pretty positive) and takes care of me like no one never has done in my life before. We have finnish Midsummer this weekend, the weather is terribly cold, +13 and windy, but we have 3 days of work. Planning to enjoy ourselves with good food and totally relaxing. I'm feeling better allready.
And what is the silver lining? I have accepted that I can't jump or participate in high-impact classes ever again, there is several yoga poses I can't do anymore BUT I have veryvery strong abs now - if your leg is not working properly, you have to use your abs more to move correct. So I share with you a Shiva Rea abs serie I still can do - not alternate the legs in rocking bridge (only with my 'good' leg bent), but anyway. Check this up and try, it's not so hard that it looks like!

Back 2 life, back 2 reality
We had a lovely holiday in Cyprus (as allways), but this time a little bit special. Antsu (loveuloveuloveu)managed to organize a surprise birthday party for me, and I hadn't a clue what was going on until I saw all our friends gathering to Nicolas Tavern for a fantastic meal and party. THANK YOU EVERYBODY, LOVE U ALL!!!!!
It was a real party holiday, Alex had his 4th birtday and we also met his little wonderful littlebrother "Tiësto" for the first time. We miss you all allready.
Back home and to Les Mills Super Quarterlies, nice new releases (tai chi in BodyBlance 45 is going to be one of my favourites), BodyVive 11 is as good as #10, fun, entertaining and good workout.
Now I have to go and prepare Sunday dinner with Antsu, take care everybody...

You’ve got a home here
We all have a dream
of a place we belong
The fire is burning
and the radio’s on
Somebody smiles
and it means 'I love you'
but sometimes we don’t notice
when the dream has come true
You’ve got a home here
Call it what you want
You’ve got a home here
to return to when you can’t
face the world and you need
some support to succeed
You’ve got a home
We all make a mess
of our lives from time to time
It’s part of the process
that you stumble as you climb
And if you ever feel
the pain is far too big a deal
I say with pride
I’ll be on your side

OMG - I'm 50 years Young
and had a major agechrisis, my first one. The fact is that I don't want to be 20 or 30 or even 40 again (staying 45 would be nice thou). I absolutely don't feel old, but our modern society suddenly threats us Beautiful People 50+ like ELDERLY people. And we are NOT so OLD, age is only a number. Post brings me these advertises to old people, catalogues with Elderly Ladies clothes, incontinence pads and antiwrinkle creams. I'm 50, but I'm still using my Nike's, mini skirts and tight jeans. Every morning when I'm choosing what to wear I do as my finnish Role Model, 82 years old dancer with attitude and still looking HOT Aira Samulin , I look to the mirror, not to my calender. And I do my core exercises so don't need incontinens pads. Enough moaning, dont't you think ;)
Had a lovely day in Helsinki with Antsu, thank You LOVE - you're The Best. We are filmaholics so we went to see a movie first (hahaaa, something cultivated like Almodovar - that we do like a lot- noup...actually we saw Pink Panther II, FUN!!)then lunch in a beautiful greek restaurant Minos (dolmades, grilled chicken and sketos), a littlebit shopping and a cultural journey to Kiasma, finnish museum of contemporary arts. My dear, lovely children came over yesterday, had dinner, later too much mud cake and chocolate - My name is Päivi, I'm a chocoholic...still

High VIVE! Celebration Born to be Wild
Visit Les Mills And Me
1 Apr 2009
The first of April...:-)
It was really nice to come back home from the business trip and to relax and take it easy for a while.
Last saturday we did have the premier for BodyVive 10 at Ladyfitness in Espoo and it was fun, we were wild and even the flowers were colourful....our generation seems to have the "wild-factor", so it is easy to let go and enjoy.
This week is also busy, i am saying goodbye to a yogagroup at the MBI-school and will say hello again to a yogagroup of future actors. Both classes have been and are really enjoyable, energetic and calm. Everybody is interested in yoga and meditation, so it helps.
Paivi,my dear dear wife, is a bit stressed, because in a week she will have BIRTHDAY, ou yes,do not worry we will take it easy with surprises,,,you know us....
Yesterday i spoke one the phone with the oldest daughter living in London and she told, that 3rd grandchild will be born in november, and that is really nice,"what a wonderful world must" be played again....
Today we will be chilling and just taking it easy, ok we will go thru BodyVive and BodyBalance just briefly, so that we do not make same mistakes again....
We are going for a spring holiday to Cyprus in the beginnig of may...just can't wait to feel the sun and to see our friends again, it will be a week to remember.....
Have a nice day and Carpe Diem

Hey team, put your balls between your knees.....
have been rehearsing release 10, big relaunch on Saturday...made me think why am I so proud of finally having a blog and never having time to write anything? Or do I even want to share my life and thoughts with you out there.....yes I do, but every three months we have these busy weeks practising new releases.
Anyway everything seems to be easier now when spring is finally coming (just saw the weatherforecast for the weekend and after this last snowstorm it's actually here). I HATE WINTER, and living in Finland doesn't make my life easy. That's why The Island of Love and Sun - Cyprus - has become a second home for us. Or the first one - whenever we step out from plane in Larnaca airport it feels like coming home...and coming back to Finland feels like going abroad for work. Just don't get this wrong, I like my daytime job and love working as Les Mills instructor in evenings, but the only thing I miss from here when we are in Cyprus is my children and my friends.
(yes, we do have plans staying there, Les Mills clubs are everywhere and we can bring our own yoga to the island too)...and of course I miss our Cyprus friends when we are here. (Specially my Soul Sis - kisses and hugs to you.)
Now it's time to eat some oatmeal with blueberries, honey and soymilk - maybe some TV and a lonely night...Antsu is on businesstrip and will be back home tomorrow -I MISS U!!

How to look good naked...lazy Sunday

eeh, one of my biggest concerns before my "hip cleaning" was how to paint my toe nails after operation... I never ever show my bare foot without beautiful colored nails.. yes, I'm Mrs. Vain, and proud of it ;)...and Antsu, the Love and Light of my life, promised to paint my nails if can't (but I could)
Hey lovely women out there, how often do you stand in front of a mirror only watching what ever you think is your best parts, enjoying your body, as it is, proud to be you????
I made a promise to myself when my hip was so sore that I hardly could walk, sitting long time or sleeping a whole night was impossible, constant pain..That when and if I can live even alittle painlessly after operation I will be more kind to myself and my body. I decided finally to actually listen to my body. I have been the master of telling our participants to listen to their bodies, and being 'no pain-no gain' my self - before my body said STOP, totally.
Now I'm going to relax and maybe read "Shopaholic and her sister" before it's time for the big TV night, starting with my favourite program "Dancing with the Stars" and followed by Amazing Race (they are in 'roadblock' in Finland 28.3.)
I'm fully enjoying this lazy Sunday with my Dear Antsu (I love u SO), before tomorrows "back to life (read 'work'), back to reality". Have been home 4 weeks after my operation and I'm feeling good. Gentle yoga, spinning (not yet fasterfaster-harderharder-scooterscooter) and this last week Bodybalance #44 reherseales has made wonders. Monday will be a good day, we have Bodybalance relaunch in Espoo (www.lady.fi) and I'm really looking forward to it.
Next week will be nice, starting rehearsing Bodyvive #10, after 2 more weeks I finally will be back with Antsu on our Bodyvive class... it start's with good old 'Celebration', and it really means that for me :)
